Analyze Meta Tags for Higher Search Engine Results Page Rankings
Making blogs friendly to search engines has great benefits in page ranks. Meta Tags are very important in making your blog/website visible to search engines. Meta Tags are used by search engines to allow them to accurately list your site in their indexes.
Most often Meta Tags are neglected as one can make web pages without using this tag at all. Another reason could be that you’re using an installation of a blog where one doesn’t have easy access to this tags. I am also guilty of this fault until I tried to analyze my blog for Search Engine Optimization (SEO). I tried to analyze my meta tag with RankQuest’s meta tag analyzer.
Here is the link that can be used to check meta tags:
http://www.rankquest.com/tools/Meta-Tag-Analyzer.php?
You can see that www.techxplore.net is reported to have missing Meta Tag.
My blog site is powered by WordPress. WordPress users are fortunate that there are plugins to automatically create meta tags like keywords and descriptions to posts and pages.
One of this is “Another WordPress Meta Plugin”:

Direct download link: Another WordPress Meta Plugin
After installing the plugin, I analyzed my site’s meta tag again. This time it looked different for it showed my description meta tag performance.
From the results I get a nice advice that I am not using the meta tag description effectively. I now then change the way my site description such that it will be used optimally.
Another plugin worth installing is “All in One SEO Pack”. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/all-in-one-seo-pack/

After installing the plugin, I run through another check. The analysis shows the following performance of my site.
The results speak of a good keywords meta tag and still show the description meta tag warning. From the results one can then tweak the meta tags to make it more optimal for search engines.
Another noticeable addition to your post management is the plugins interface to allow you particular and additional meta tag title, description or keywords for a particular post.
Analyze your Meta Tags. It can spell a lot in achieving higher Search Engine Results Page (SERP) rankings.

Yeah, SEO is really great, but is beneficial mostly for those who want to hit a target financial figure. The meta tags will increase your visibility via search engines like Google, but what will boost your rank is really the consistency of your contents. I think its one of those things are missed out by company owned websites.
