Acer TravelMate 3012WTMi is Back
I worked mostly on Tracie an Acer TravelMate 3012WTMi. Tracie has been my working buddy for almost a year now. I like my laptop very much as it’s just right for my needs. Recently, I did a disastrous thing on Tracie. Two (2) weeks ago, I wiped its harddisk’s master boot record (MBR). tsk.. tsk.. It was very bad.. my data and everything is there. I don’t have any choice but to bring Tracie to Acer’s Service Center in Zeer, Rangsit.
Once there, the lady on the counter asked me about the problem with my laptop. I told her that the harddisk crashed with Windows blue screen of death (BSD). I also added that the external DVD-Super Multi double layer reader/writer could not read/write DVD’s. She immediately typed something on her computer and checked Tracie for a while. After which she told me that my laptop is under warranty until the end of the month. So they will be replacing the harddisk and external DVD reader/writer for FREE. Oh.. I said to myself this is great. The only thing is that they’re going to keep the laptop for one (1) week as it’s going to be sent to Acer’s Bangkok main office for replacement and check up. It sounds fine to me to wait for a week anyway they will be changing the harddisk and the external DVD drive.
Today, I went to Acer’s Service Center in Zeer, Rangsit. I have a chance to check Tracie before going back home. I noticed that the old Seagate 80Gb harddisk was gone and now replaced with a new Hitatchi 80Gb harddisk. The external DVD drive is also brand new. Cool! I enjoyed this replacements/service without spending a cent.
I am very satisfied of the service provided by Acer Service Center. Just a friendly note: If you still have your laptop under warranty have it serviced before the warranty expires.
who knows you might get something new for free.
