Add Productivity to Your Windows File Browser with Handy Folders
Are you tired of going through the maze of clicks when you want to see what’s inside your document folders? That is the normal case with windows every day, every minute, every second. I myself am getting tired of this old fashion and time consuming routine. How I wish that I could just go directly to the folders I like within two (2) clicks at most.
Lately I was looking for an alternative and allow me to share some interesting software I discovered. I don’t know if you have heard of Handy Folders; as the name implies this one will make you access your favorite folders in a breeze. I thought at first that it would just be like another file browser. I downloaded the file which is a mere 4.2Mb; download was done in less than a minute and a half via 54Mbps Wireless connection. Installation was easy and no need for restarts to start using it. After installation a small folder icon on the system tray appeared. When I click on the icon immediately the most important folders which I normally visit are shown like My Favorite Places, Desktop, Control Panel, Printers and Faxes, Recycle Bin and Drives. Actually it’s more than that; it allows me to customize the popup to add those personal folders that are not standard. I easily learned how to use it immediately; everything was self explained. It is very user friendly and its interface is integrated to windows user experience.
Handy folders is a nice tweak to the ordinary windows explorer technology of accessing files. This could be a candidate in history of computers annals today. Forget about including it in the history of cell phones as cell phones have their own user navigation technology. Seriously, this is good piece of software for everyone to add productivity to work.
I have never seen any software close to this one. This is a great addition to those collections of productivity tools I like. The great value added was reasonable for a small license fee. I really recommend this great program as a must in your system tray.

May 9th, 2008 at 7:44 pmGo to Links folder and make new folder and place folders shortcuts in there and that’s it.
I tried Handy Folders but it slowed browsing files
Also you should try freeware MyExplorerBar

and StExBar

Folder View is older, and does the same, for free: http://www.folderview.com.
