Something that AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) user’s will love about Google’s Gmail; the new addition of AIM chat within Gmail. Every day more and more features are added to Gmail. Google Talk (or Gmail Chat.) now offers the capability to sign on AIM account and chat with your AIM buddies from Gmail. Upon sign on to an AIM account, the contacts list will be automatically populated from the AIM buddies. The contact list loaded from AIM will then be searcheable just like any other Google Talk contacts.

Though this feature requires one to have an AIM account. It’s easy to start chatting with your AIM buddies just click on a name in your chat list, and start typing. Gmail has made this feature possible by using an Open AIM.

What’s important is the more friends on the chat list the more fun it is. Enjoy AIM Chat in Gmail !
