How To Correct Computer Work Related Eye Strain

Everyday I am facing the computer screen. I have noticed that I experienced some eye strain and even headache. I am not sure if it’s due to too much of working on the computer screen or it was due to the computer display type or the lighting around the work environment. This prompted me to do some research on the are area of computer related eye strain. Let me share about the two working environment that I work with and how it affected my eyes.

At the office I am facing the glaring window without any curtains. Excessive bright light often causes eye strain. The light source could be from outdoor sunlight or bright lights of the office. It’s advisable to have a lighting which should be about half of that found in most offices. A curtain could be installed on the window to prevent too much outdoor sunlight from coming in. Another would be the reduction of interior lighting by using fewer light bulbs or fluorescent tubes.

At home I work with the laptop and normally I work with some desk lamp on my back facing the computer screen. I noticed that this setup causes also eye strain. Thus, to reduce eye strain it should be setup in such a way that the light doesn’t shine into your eyes or onto the computer screen. Or maybe use a 24v lights that provide a dimmer desk lighting.

Those are just two of the important aspect of computer related eye strain and one how to correct them. I hope you take good care of your eyes. Take good care of your eyes, they are just the only eyes we have.

you know what? i really have this eyesight problem now. could it be from a failing computer monitor screen, poor lighting system, prolonged eye-to-eye contact with the computer screen, or lack of sleep?

well, you don’t need to answer as i’m quite certain that all of the above caused this problem of mine. let me rethink & re-engineer myself so i can become effective once again…1st, seeing an optometrist has to be done.
