Choosing A Good Domain Name For Domain Registration Is Getting Difficult
Putting up a new website entails choosing a domain name. Internet domain names are like branding names. It’s very important to choose domain names that are relevant to your site as a whole. There is difficulty in getting a good domain name as almost 90% of the single word in the dictionary is already registered. Even double words like simplepleasures, cookietravels, blueapron, essentialtidbits, techjourney, to name a few are already taken. It doesn’t end there even triple word domain name are difficult to find. As names like bytesofcookie, checkthisout, ideasbeyondborders, theonlinematrix and more are already not available for the taking.
The ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) has overall responsibility for managing the DNS (Domain Name System) of the Internet. Eventhough it is managed by ICANN there are companies that buy some “franchise” to sell domain names. These companies offer domain registration services to allow common user to register the domain for their website.
Some of the internet domain registration services include a search for availability of domain names. Others have free email hosting, URL forwarding, and domain name parking. Of course you don’t want your domain name be taken by someone else so there are renewal reminder service too. The problem is that most of the good domain names are already taken and are sold at higher prices. Thus, choosing a good domain name for domain registration is getting difficult. One will end up with a domain name which is weird sounding, but we’ll just have to live by it and be creative in concocting domain names.

yes, you are right there, tons. almost all nice sounding names & words were already taken & what’s left for you is only the not-so-favorite word or name to register for your own domain.
i’m lucky that i got mine before others could take it. i like the idea of being so general & unlimited in many ways

February 5th, 2008 at 10:47 amThanks a lot for your article from which I get understood the importance of name while going for a domain registration. I use this code all the time and it really helps to save me money while brainstorming ideas for domains. Other codes in this family include ZINE1 (Save 10% on anything), and ZINE2 (Save $5 off $30).
