Acer TravelMate 3012WTMi 8GB Memory Upgrade

I have a year and a half Acer TravelMate 3012WTMi laptop computer which currently have 2GB DDR2 RAM. Since, Computer Memory are getting cheaper, I was thinking of having the laptop’s memory upgraded to the maximum capacity possible.

Acer TravelMate 3012WTMi supports DDR2 technology. So, I checked online for some DDR2 memory modules available for laptop. I found some 4GB DDR2 memory modules (4GB DDR2 FBDIMM, 4GB DDR2 RDIMM VLP, 4GB DDR2 FBDIMM) and was hoping to fill my laptop’s two memory slot with each of this to enjoy 8GB memory. Yeah, it seems possible to have an 8GB memory for my laptop. Oppsss, Acer TravelMate 3012WTMi supports only DDR2 200 pins memory module. I bumped into a problem as 4GB DDR2 memory modules have 240 pins. This makes upgrades up to the possible expanded maximum of 4GB using dual SoDIMM modules.

Even if it’s possible the price for each memory module is on the average pegged at $300 even with some Computer Memory Deal. Still way above, but the 2GB memory module is on the average cost $50 each. A 2GB 200-PIN PC2-5300 CL5 16c 128x8 DDR2-667 SODIMM memory module would be more appropriate for the upgrade rather than the 4GB DDR2 memory modules.

At this, I hope to Get a Deal on Memory which is more affordable; banking on the number of online shops selling laptop and computer memory. If you have made a more than 4GB memory upgrade for Acer TravelMate 3012WTMi laptop kindly leave me a note. Thanks!
