Environment is suffering too much due to green house effect. Global warming is a by word from here and there. Some trash it as a normal cycle while others think of it as a serious consequence of neglect. The way I see things around; nature is not acting normal anymore.

Everyone knows that the polar ice caps are shrinking. The temperatures in the Arctic region are rising fast compared to elsewhere in the world. A result of this can be seen when the largest single block of ice in the Arctic, the Ward Hunt Ice Shelf, started cracking in 2000. Until now it is breaking into pieces.

Scientist relate global warming to the burning of fossil fuels like oil, coal and gas. This is needed to generate electricity and power for our vehicles, as a result we produce the heat-trapping gases that cause global warming. Consequently, the more we burn, the global climate change accelerates.

Thus the most important thing we can do is save energy. Lessen the use of electricity, use some fan instead of air con or change bulbs to led lamps. Another could be minimize the usage of car or join a Carpool in your area to save gasoline. There are many more creative ways that people could do to save Earth.

You can join some international climate-change awareness campaign by World Wildlife Fund (WWF) like “Earth Hour” (www.earthhour.org) which was started last year in Sydney, Australia. This action hopes to bringing awareness about global warming to governments by switching off electricity use for 60 minutes. Those, are just a few things one can do to save Earth from a catastrophic climate change due to global warming. The important thing is each will do a share to save the Earth for posterity’s sake.
