Spoiler Technology Increases Fuel Efficiency

Some sports car have some wings at the back similar to the one on airplanes and this is what we call a spoiler. In the aeronautics industry a spoiler is something which reduces lift in aeronautics. The same principle I guess is being applied to automotive vehicles.

Spoilers are installed at the back of cars or sport cars to modify air flow which thereby increases fuel efficiency. Other drivers note that spoilers could improve handling of the vehicle, but I could not quantify this one. Some may just put a spoiler on their car for aesthetic purpose.

Be it for increasing fuel efficiency, improved vehicle maneuverability, aesthetic reasons; spoilers could not be denied as a vehicle part which have good use. You can try it and tell me if it really makes a difference when it comes to maneuverability or handling the car, but scientific studies have proven that spoiler technology increases fuel efficiency.
