Choosing Home Internet Connectivity Requirement

Internet connection is an essential part of a modern living. I for instance works with Internet at the office to check / send email and to search for work related problems. Even with the full day work in front of a computer; at home, when I arrive, I always turn on my laptop. This is to check some personal emails and do some work on my blog.

All staff house and student accommodations have Internet, but the place where I live before is far from academic buildings; so, I connect through the Internet through a dial up connection. To have Internet, I subscribed to unlimited monthly Internet connection from a local phone company. I was lucky after a few years to move to a nearby academic building laboratory which have a wireless access point. There is a free Internet wireless signal which I can connect with at home. Sometimes the WiFi connection is not reliable as the signal is weak due to the distance.

Due to the slow speed provided by the dial up Internet connection, I subscribed to a ADSL. This is the first time that I experience much faster connection than dial up at home. Though the fees are a little higher than dial up. The fast connection allows me to view videos and listen to streaming music from the Internet. I was hoping to somehow try a cable Internet, as it’s faster than dial up or ADSL.

In the US, one could easily get a broadband ISP provider like Cox, Comcast, Charter or RoadRunner Online to have Internet connectivity. Deciding for a suitable Internet connection is trivial. One could also visit websites which showcase all information about ISP’s that have dial up, cable, ADSL, satellite, and more. A price and service comparison could be easily checked which will assist in choosing the right home Internet connectivity.
