Microwave Technology Protection Against Termites

Termites are one of those pest that have the capability of destroying especially wood based house structures. In the United States for example Southern California is the most place where termites could be found. There are many ways of eradicating a termite and the common ones are fumigation and chemical treatment.

Technology have devise the use of microwave to eradicate termite due to the harm that might occur with methods like fumigation or chemical treatment. I remember our house of wood and cement that was infested by Drywood termite. The wood becomes small pellets that scatter around the floors. We need to call in the pest control specialist a number of times for borate termite treatment of the wood structure of the house. Those that could not be treated are removed entirely and burned.

Microwave devices are used to kill termites inside infested wood through heating. The treatment time could range from 10 seconds to 10 minutes for a particular site depending on the thickness of the wood. This are done though with technicians that have good idea of the operation keeping heat vulnerable things out of range. Microwave technology could be a good way of protecting or eradicating termites, but everything depends on accurate detection of the colony.
