Open Source Mac OS X On Windows PC

Many Windows PC users are wanting to run Mac OS X on a PC, but it was only recently that Apple have made available its Mac OS X run on Intel’s CPU architecture. In my search, I have run some theme solutions on having Windows PC have a bit of Mac OS X environment. Never have it been closer though. I was wondering if there is an open source way of running a Mac OS X operating system on a Windows PC. I have found a solution using an open source emulator that does it. One of O’Reilly Short Cuts mini book outlines the steps on how to achieve it.

The secret was to use PearPC, an open source emulator that emulates the PowerPC architecture. It is an architecture independent PowerPC platform emulator that is capable of running most PowerPC operating systems. It is a JIT (Just-in-Time) emulator which translate PowerPC code into x86 code. You can learn more about PearPC by visiting the site http://sourceforge.net/projects/pearpc or http://pearpc.sourceforge.net/.

There are many PearPC help forum such as emaculation.com. You could find all the steps needed to successfully get Mac OS X working. The forums have added things that will even guide you how to configure additional settings to make Mac OS X functional. I hope you could successfully run Mac OS X on your Windows PC.
