Securing Distance Learning Computer Funding
In today’s high-tech world, education have also grown together with technology. Learning could be done through the Internet on programs like what we call Distance Learning. It shows that computers are rapidly becoming a necessity of life. Computers have played an important role in communicating with employers, paying bills, and completing work assignments are all made easier with a computer. Many universities now require students to have a computer, just like textbooks.
More so, in the distance learning education program. Deciding on the personal computer to invest in would be a wise decision for complementing learning. There are many computers that are cheap now in the market, but one that will be durable for study and later for work will be suitable.
The minimum hardware and software requirements for distance learning degree programs varies and here below is a typical setting:
- Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack 2
- Microsoft Office 2003 Standard (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- 1.3 GHz CPU
- 512 MB RAM
- 80 GB Hard Drive
- CD-ROM (DVD Drive recommended)
- Sound card and speakers
- 1024×768 resolution monitor
- Internet access with 56K modem (Broadband recommended)
- Email account
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0, Netscape 7.1 or Firefox 1.0.x
The computer brand would play an important role so they might be expensive. For example, if you get Apple’s Mac Computer, then it would cost you more. Payday Loans would sometimes be needed to secure the required computer. This is true when we haven’t spared a budget for this in our monthly expense. Having a loan would allow us to make monthly installments that is easy on the pocket.
Regarding the distance learning virtual classroom website, be careful of using an Apple computer as support for it is normally limited. Many supplemental CD-ROM’s and course textbooks don’t work on Apple’s Mac. An important thing to note, but settling for a typical personal computer running Microsoft Windows to successfully complete your degree program would spare you from all the technical troubles.
