Wind Power Technology A Clean Energy Source

Wind Farms Power Technology

Impacts on environment by conventional sources of energy have brought engineers and scientist to have an alternative solution. One of those in the forefront alternative is wind power. Wind power is the fastest growing form of power generation.

Many regions of the US have invested in feasibility studies for wind power plants. The state of California for example is one of the leading states on wind power generation technology.

In the year 2004, wind energy in California produced 4,258 million kilowatt-hours of electricity, about 1.5 percent of the state’s total electricity. That’s more than enough to light a city the size of San Francisco.

Talking of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games extravagant and lavish preparations; China is even catching up with clean wind power technology. It’s even ranked sixth worldwide in terms of the number of wind turbine installations and the country have implemented some Renewable Energy Law.

Generating a sizable amount of electric energy requires a large scale wind farm which consumes a big area. These wind farms are then connected to electrical grids for distribution in the local communities. I could just imagine the way things are done during construction of these facilities. Hoist Manufacturer could really come helpful on these as heavy lift together with big trucks are necessary in transporting the huge components of the wind farm. It requires careful planning and takes years to complete also. On a smaller scale, individual turbines can provide electricity to isolated locations which might not be as big as those in wind farms.

Wind power technology is a promising source of future clean energy. The good news is that the cost of construction is lowering down as the years pass.
