Uploading Securely New Blogging WordPress Themes With SFTP

Blogging addicts are always changing themes for their blogs. It’s good that for me I am using a WordPress blog platform. It’s easier for me to change the themes and there are lots of available themes for free. Take note though that free web hosting sites that provide WordPress blog platform like wordpress.com doesn’t allow File Transfer Protocol (FTP). Free hosting sites only allows a pre-selected theme for users to choose and you could not add any other theme on the list. Having a paid hosting service does not have this limitation; it allows you to do FTP for changing themes, uploading plugins, and others.

Changing the WordPress Themes involves uploading of the theme files to the server. In WordPress the themes are normally located on the “/wp-content/themes/” folder. You could use a SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol) software to transfer my WordPress Themes to the server. This is to make sure that no one is messing up with the files uploaded to the server. It’s always better to have a precaution when it comes to security. Never compromise simple things such as file transfers. If you want to have flexibility in your blog, consider a paid hosting and with it you can upload photos, scripts, themes, plugin with secure file transfer ptotocol.
