I have had this problem with two separate 745s. Even stranger, they would not display the behavior when logged in under my profile, but would when logged in as another. Changing hard drives didn't seem to help. Moving the HD to another machine would still result in the same problem - pointing to the problem being on the HD and only affecting certain profiles. All updates are current to BIOS and WinXP SP3. No events listed after shutdown.

Yes, I have one of these machines at work. Its completely random and happens ever couple of weeks. I'll be working, my mouse will freeze and the pc will just reboot. Nothing in the Event Log, no BSOD, nothing.

I've had a similar problem on two Optiplex 745s. They're virus-free and up-to-date with AV; their BIOS is current; the CPU heat sink is clean and fans are operable; they're on UPS and keep running through power outages. I've updated to Windows XP SP3. I've set XP so they would get a BSOD instead of an automatic restart if it's a Windows crash. I've replaced the power supplies. Still, every couple of days, these computers unexpectedly shut themselves off without warning, and without any events logged. Are others having this problem?
