Free Open Source Application For Apple Mac
Are you an Apple Mac user? You might not be aware of some of the best free open source applications for your Mac. I have bumped into a website 10to1.com which shows some listing and ranking. It would let you interactively rank the listed applications.
Apple’s Mac OSX Open Source Application Top ten voting lists.
- Quicksilver - Quick start application launcher
- Handbrake - Very simple to use DVD ripper
- Firefox - Premier free, open-source browser
- Burn - CD/DVD burner
- Thunderbird - Email client with a great interface, spam filtering and feature add-ons
- NeoOffice - Microsoft Office suite competitor
- Senuti - Gets music off of your iPod
- Transmission - Torrent client
- VLC - Play almost any video file
- Adium - Multiple IM client
The list dynamically changes as it allows users to create, comment and vote on lists. Thus, based on the vote ranking of the site visitors a listed item could go up or down. Anyway, this seems interesting to me as some of the names are very strange. Handbrake? I thought it was just for vehicles, but it found its way into Apple as a DVD ripper. =) I might write a review of these open source software for Apple’s Mac OSX in the future.
