Making Cheap Telephone Calls With Computer
Internet is a vast connection of computers that shares data. The Internet have been a source of cheap communications. Maybe you have heard of the “Voice Over IP” or Voice Over Internet Protocol which facilitates voice communication through the Internet such as telephone calls. I have been using VoIP calls to my parents back home whenever they are not online.
There are 3 Things That’s Needed For Making Cheap Telephone Calls with a computer:
- Internet
- Software
- Hardware
Internet - digital packets of data are sent through this network of computer and the higher the speed of the data transfer the better.
Software - the software which handles telephone calls from a computer. Sample of a telephone computer communication software is skype.com. One needs to buy skype credit to call a mobile phone or a land phone. There are also other software like gizmo5.com. Calls from skype to skype or gizmo5 to gizmo5 are free calls.
Hardware - refers to the computer paraphernalia that’s needed like microphone and speaker, headset, or voice handset.
Making cheap Internet telephone calls is here to stay, but before you dump your land line phone take note that emergency service calls are not available for use on these computer VoIP services. But these is still possible through special subscription from some telephone networks like Vonage and others. Those three components: Internet, Software, and Hardware are the basic things you need to use your computer just like a telephone at a cheaper rate.
