Cleaning Up Computer Stuff While Moving To A New Office
Transferring to a new office is not an easy task. A week have passed and the time seems not enough. Moving tables, chairs, cabinets, books, CD’s, and a lot of other things. The last thing we moved was our telephone, desktop computers, printers, and other computer related stuff. If you could just see the pile of trash that we have thrown away. Most of them old or unusable UPS, printers, monitors, computers, power cables, network cables, extra keyboard, mouse, printer toners, floppy disk, CD, papers, and books.
We don’t want to move to a new place with all the junk. It took us a lot of time to sort out the things to dispose and retain. I have to skim through all the books, training materials and see if they are still relevant. Moving to the new office, requires us to set up our own computers and printers. Network Cables and power cables are needed to be tidied up to prevent clutter. Making sure that the network cables are matching with the new switch that we have in the new office. During the first day, we did not have network connection. Some network ports are not working and our access rights to the servers need to be configured.
I am glad that at the end of the week we’ve had almost finished moving. Though there are still minor cleaning up and somethings to take care, we can do some of our regular work again.
