Laptop computer are getting cheap. The recent IFA 2008 which is the world’s largest Consumer Electronics trade fair have revealed very cheap prices with laptops quoted less than 100$. The international exhibition attracts visitors from all over the world and it show case electronic entertainment, communications and home appliance products.

Currently there is a confusion on differentiating a mini-laptop, mini-notebook and netbook. They all seem to be the target range for less than 100$ category of laptops. A popular netbook from MenQ International Ltd is the EasyPC E760 which boast to be sold at 89 dollars only.

One should think twice before getting this product as it’s not the same as the full laptop. Usually ARM processors are used in embedded systems, smart cards, consumer entertainment and imaging applications. If you travel a lot then EasyPC E760 could be used over regular laptops. The price of 89$ is very tempting if you just run lean applications.
