Movement of our office calls for a better computer display to match the new environment. LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) screen is a good choice for computer display as it provides unmatched crisp, clear picture. What I like in LCD Monitor is not only it provides better picture, but it also protects your eyes! LCD’s are known to reduce screen glare and it helps prevent eyestrain. It’s interesting to know that LCD’s are filled with liquid crystal between 2 polarizing filters. This is the reason that removes the glare effect which hurts the eye. The LCD monitors produce clear picture even at low intensity as it consumes very low power. The LCD screen to have a crystal clear display should be protected from scratches and abrasions.
LCD’s acts similar to that of an eyeglasses that keeps your eyes protected when head lights are up ahead from an approaching vehicle. We could note that our eyes feels more comfortable with some photochromic lens or tinted sunglasses lens during glaring day light. These kind of properties are built-in an LCD display monitor.
Above you see how a TFT LCD monitor is made of, that have two Polarizing filters. Somethings to know more of an LCD Screen:
- Polarizing filter which is similar to what is used in sunglasses which eliminates up to 95% of glare effect
- Naturally digital, unlike CRTs (Cathode-ray Tube), which makes them a good choice for computer display, digital TV, and high-definition television (HDTV)
- Inappropriate brightness can still cause eyestrain with LCD, so, it is important to look at something else every few minutes or take a break to avoid eye-strain
I believe LCD’s are the wave of the future and might be more advanced in the coming years. Lowering price of the LCD’s will trigger more happy users like me.
