Start Up Blog Web Hosting Choice For Scalability
Blogging is something new for me a year ago. I have been invited to blog by my sister, but just never cared about it. I was too trapped in programming and work. It was years later that I realized how much was lost for not heeding the invitation.
I was finally convinced of setting up my own blog after seeing how she’s showcasing her writing skills, gaining new friends, and earning a bit from her blog. It was then that I started to explore blogging. The first concern I have then was to select a web hosting for my blog. There are a variety of choices whether I will go for a Free Hosting, Shared Hosting, or Dedicated Hosting.
Sometimes one will get lost on the terminologies and the little nuances of web hosting. But,
I find web hosting blogs as a rich source of information regarding hosting services. Not really a hindrance for a determined person to start blogging.
Free hosting was my initial impulse. I don’t want to spend a dime on this blogging endeavor. But my sister has reasoned that free hosting will limit the scalability of the blog later on. Well, sure she’s right. I am happy to end up with some paid hosting of about 150 Mb disk space at 4 GB per month bandwidth traffic. True, after nearly a year I already have some “bandwidth exceed limit” errors.
I was forced then to move my blog hosting to another much bigger and more scalable hosting. This time I have bigger disk space, larger bandwidth, better tech support and better server uptime. I am glad of the initial choice to go for a paid hosting which I have upgraded from a shared hosting to a dedicated hosting service. I find it spending for a dedicated hosting in the beginning of a start up blog a bit expensive. The path that I have chosen is more practical and economical in terms of blog scalability.
