		<description>While you can certainly disable the compatibility check, you&#039;re potentially compromising the stability of Firefox by allowing incompatible add-ons to run.

It seems that Firebug was your issue and I would bet that you installed it from the Firebug site directly. Unfortunately, past versions of Firebug, especially those installed from the Firebug main site, had an update URL which didn&#039;t allow users to upgrade correctly. If you uninstall Firebug and reinstall it from addons.mozilla.org, your issues should disappear. I had the same experience myself.
