PeopleSoft Enterprise Campus Solution 9.0 Suitable Higher Education Student System Assessment
The changing and expanding needs of the higher education institution have forced Information Technology infrastructure to play catch on. This is a reality in the institution where I am working. The pace of change is just too much for the lean working force to make the adjustments and changes. Coping up would seem to be an endless fire fighting scenario.
Patching things up seems to be a boring stuff for a system analyst programmer to do. That’s why the Information System unit has really pushed to search for better alternative than the in-house Student Information System software application. The original design of in-house student system was not meant to be what it is today. The resources needed to adapt to the changes projected for the coming year is surmounting.
In the Information Technology (IT) Unit we are aware of the strength and the limitation of the current system. But after evaluating PeopleSoft Enterprise Campus Solution 9.0 we found many things that could be included in our system which might take time to develop in-house. Thus, we’ve read through some documentation, reviews, and papers regarding the Oracle PeopleSoft Campus Solution. I need to take my eyeglasses off from time to time due to the eye strain in reading the bulk of electronic documents sent by Oracle PeopleSoft Representatives. Anyway, it’s a good thing that I get to learn more of the features of the packaged student system.
We’ve finally made it to the stage of requirement identification through a quick check list on the features we require in Oracle’s PeopleSoft Campus Solution. There’s only a few things which we require not found in the package software as everything seems to be covered already. In the IT unit we are pretty sure that the needs and expectations of all the institute’s constituents from students, staff, faculty, to administrators would be met. PeopleSoft Enterprise Campus Solution 9.0 is in my assessment would be a suitable Higher Education Student System in our institution.
