Caller ID Technology Tracing Unwanted Calls

In the old days during the time of analog telephones there’s just little one could do in determining the telephone number of the call origin. There is a sprawling abuse of the use of telephone. The prank calls which wakes one up in the evening or unsolicited calls that bother without cause. A way for tracing calls for billing purposes was devised, but the information was used only internally by the telecommunication carriers. I guess this is still practiced by some telephone carriers.

Later the caller ID information was allowed for privileged connections to the network such as 911 service and police. This service was made available to freephone providers eventually. In the digital telecommunication world of today, called ID are a common value added service. Thus, in the modern times even though the unwanted calls haven’t dropped the telephone user have ways to fend off those kind of calls. If you live in say Canada there are services like Reverse Phonebook Canada which could avail to trace telephone call source. There’s even an option to be removed from the public phone directory which is used by telemarketers and other unwanted callers. Though this are premium services which you’ll need to pay, if it’s worth a good nights sleep or a peaceful day why not put a few bucks on it? I say stopping unwanted calls through different ways is worth spending.
