Technology to Thwart Global and Domestic Security Threat
Technology would be an instrument in increasing the security in the modern world. The elements of ruthless criminals and terrorist are expanding their operations. I was shocked with the events that happened in Mumbai, India when the terrorist attacked the hotel. The security in Taj Mahal and Oberoi Hotels have been tight with all the bomb scanners, dog snifters and spy camera in-place, but the terrorist have infiltrated through the security perimeter.
No one can prevent such a well planned attack, even if there will be more sophisticated technology. A way to combat terrorism in the future might be to have some more of intelligence work tied up with the local people. Citizen’s vigilance would be a key factor on this fight against security threats. Police and authorities information of any unusual movements in the vicinity would be a major step in increasing security.
Maybe spy satellites, drones, and cameras in hostile area would constantly monitor movements from a central anti-terrorist command post. I am hopeful still that technology would be coping up in fighting security threats in the future.
