Remote Desktop Connection Can’t Connect Error to Remote Windows 2000 Server Computer

Windows 2000 Server Computer is an important machine that manages network resources. Some of the computer servers are dedicated to do file storage, database queries, network traffic, printing services and more. The resources are usually accessible through the network. A server needs to be administered and managed.

Managing computer servers can be done in the console or remote. I do Windows 2000 Server administration through Remote Desktop Connection. It’s much convenient to login remotely to the server and do the things just as when I am on the console in the server room. The graphical interface in managing the server is very convenient and easy.

Remote Desktop Connection Error to Windows 2000 Server

I have a fresh install of Windows 2000 Server on a spare Aspire T300 computer as a temporary replacement for the Dell Power Edge 2550 server that went down. After booting it up and registering the computer on the domain server. I tried to do Remote Desktop Connection to administer the various services and user access, but was greeted with an error – This computer can’t connect to the remote computer. Try connecting again. If the problem continues, contact the owner of the remote computer or your network administrator.

I was stuck up with this error and have been looking for any solution. The cause after a quick check was that Terminal Service on the remote Windows 2000 Server was not installed.
