All around ASUS Touch Screen Personal Desktop Computer
Touch screen is usually related to Palm Top or Smart Phones, but ASUS has introduced a touch screen desktop computer. ASUS is not the first on this area as I remember the touch screen Apple iMac and HP’s Touchsmart Personal Computer. The EEE Top ET16 series of ASUS desktop computers comes with the cool touch screen feature.
ASUS has introduced first the concept of the EEE PC’S and low cost Netbooks which rocked other manufactures to follow. The touch screen is called EEE Top as its manufactured based on the EEE PC’s and Netbook concept. The ASUS touch screen computer has a 15.6 inch screen, but it is a bit smaller compared to the 22 to 25.5 inch display of HP touchsmart PC. The price is also about $999 US which is about half of $2099 of HP touchsmart PC.
The ASUS’s EEE Top touch screen is built with low powered 1.6GHz Intel Atom CPU chip used in EEE PC’s and other Netbooks. The familiar features like Gigabit Ethernet, Wireless N, 160GB hard drive, 1GB of RAM, and with ATI HD3450 graphics option for gamers. The PC has a 1.3 megapixel camera, built-in stereo speaker, Wi-Fi, USB ports, and more.
ASUS boast of software that could recognize handwriting and some digital post-it notes on-screen. There are wireless keyboard and mouse, but the main feature is touch screen. ASUS’s EEE Top is a good direction for low-cost desktop touch screen-based PC that is good enough for Internet surfing, e-mail, office work, and gaming which makes it an all around computer.
