Geeks Functional Wristband Computer
Have you ever thought of computers that are wearable? Those technology geeks who would like to be connected to the Internet might be happy with wearable wristband computer. I thought all along this this are just movie stuff, but Glacier Computers have developed a computer packed with significant amount of computing power wearable as a wristband.
Imagine having a working computer on your wristband which could allow you to do basically things a little akin to a regular computer. That’s right, the W200 is an actual computer that can be strapped around the wrist. You could be looking very nerdy if you wear it going to work. The wrist band computer might not be the special Replacement Watch Bands that gives a complete wearer comfort.
The W200 wristband computer features a 3.5-inch touch screen display, back lit keyboard and hot swappable battery pack. To make you fully connected to the world around is a Wi Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. Windows CE or Linux computer operating system could be installed on this portable personal gadget. This makes the W200 wristband computer does not have a very stylish look, but it’s a functional computing gadget.
As I have said this does not provide a very good comfort level to the user, even if it is kind of a bulky gadget this could be supported by anyone who would like to use it without any problem. The wristband computer weighs 10.2 ounces so it’s not that heavy for the forearm. The strap is designed to fit seamlessly around the wrist so you might even forget it was there if it wasn’t for all the pointing and whispering as you walked by.
Glacier has framed the use of the device in a more professional way in such workplaces as emergency services, warehousing and field logistics. However, I have a feeling that it really appeals to a different type of user, the type of user who rarely leaves home due to a crippling fear of leaving his PC unattended. Now, that guy will never need go without and the outside world just got a wee bit dorkier.
