Computer Video Game Determines Worst Drivers
Driving is a skill which needs to be tested to insure safety. Accidents due to driving have claimed lives of drivers, passengers and pedestrians. Thus, driving test are very important prior to a release of a driver’s license. Whew! I am thankful to be through all of it. I passed the paper examination together with a practical test when I applied for a driver’s license.
Lately, there’s a new addition to the paper test and that is the use of computer video game technology for testing driving skills. In the US worst drivers were determined by letting drivers pass a driving computer video game. In Europe they even have the European computer driving license course training to prepare a from driving test.
The question is will good driving skills on Forza 2 on Xbox 360, Grand Turismo series, and other driving game translate to a driver’s license? I am not sure as study shows that those ages 18 to 24 years old are the ones that scored badly. They are the daring drivers that maybe score well on a computer video game but will not pass in real road safe driving requirement.
In the US the worst drivers are found in New York, New Jersey, Hawaii, and California. So, be careful when you’re out on the streets of those places. Anyway, when it comes to driving, older drivers scored high on driving test. I am sure they are more careful and responsible which includes computer video game driving too. I would like to test myself this driving computer video game used by the transportation office. Just curious whether I would pass or not. Tsk!
