CD and DVD Data Backup Solutions for Desktop Computer
Tons of data are being stored on desktop computers. As days go by the size of the files stored on the hard drives of computer piles. There many several kind that takes up huge amount of space like audio and video files, photo images, graphic files, and others.
Office suite software files are not as big compared to the above file types unless images / photos are embedded on those files. Files stored on office desktop computer are vulnerable to damage or loss. Threats coming from computer virus, data thief, power loss or outages, and others could lead to data disaster.
Data backup solutions are very important in preserving the data. There are many available data backup service options ranging from external USB drive, CD & DVD optical disk, online data backup, offsite data backup, and many more.
In our office, the most convenient way of desktop computer data backup is through CD & DVD optical disk. I have observed though that CD optical disk don’t last very long. Depending on the quality of the disk the CD backup could last for about 5 years. Longer lasting data backup could be stored on DVD optical disk, but needs to be stored on a good environment.
The importance of the data to be stored would somehow determine the data backup solution.
