Computer Skills Upgrade via On-Demand Internet Learning
In the IT Industry, it’s always a race with technology development. If one doesn’t upgrade computer skills for sure they will be left behind. Most computer specialist are very sought after people and they are not easily allowed to take long work leave for a training. That’s exactly my dilemma at work as a System Analyst Programmer.
The talk of outsourcing to cut on cost has been moving around the work place; upgrading computer skills is would really help improve on the chances of being retained at work. I have scouted for online courses to augment my stock of computer skills. I was also considering getting a Master Degree in Computer Science through distance education via Internet.
Some company value education degree while others value work experience. If I can have both they it would be very much an advantage for me. Computer training and computer certification, as I have observed have very high value at work. I experience a much newer staff getting higher pay by having a Microsoft Certified Database Administrator certification.
Thus, I looked around for some computer training courses which is unstructured that will allow me to learn on my own pace. CareerAcademy.com is one of those websites that I have found that offers Microsoft, Cisco and CompTIA, and other IT courses online. Leveraging the fast Internet connection with multimedia rich resources like on-demand video and lectures coupled with some online simulated hand-on lab exercises is what suits me best in upgrading my computer skills.
