Self Charging Mobile Phone Uses Wireless Power

Wireless power source for mobile phones is a technology shocker. It was couple of years ago that a friend university lecturer have thought of an idea of harnessing radio waves to recharge a mobile phone. He actually made a prototype of a charger which actually works charging his mobile phone when he’s off any wall socket.

I was amazed at the vast potential application of the work. The idea is long time brain child of some genius minds like Nikola Tesla. It was not long though that I have seen similar stuff on the market. It’s usually the big names that gets most of the credit and have the means to follow on this kind of endeavor.

Nokia Research Center in UK has done intensive work on this area. Recently, Nokia have created a prototype of a cell phone that recharges itself with the power coming from radio waves from the air. It is projected that within five year a commercial phone with this self charging technology will be off on the market shelf. This is a fantastic breakthrough in technology innovation. Who knows we will have houses lighted with wireless power in the future.
