Quality Budget Web Hosting Seems Impossible

The first few things I pondered upon when I first started out blogging is web hosting. I was torn between using free web hosting service and paid web hosting service. People who are not so serious about blogging would normally go for the free web hosting. It would not be difficult to avail as there’s a growing list of free web hosting available on the net.

I have second thoughts though on this free web site hosting as there is limited flexibility. Restrictions on themes and blogging platform are the major blocks. I for example would like to use WordPress Platform, but the free blog hosting provider only offers Calliope. This scenario leaves me little room for customization. Thus, I have searched for some cheap web site hosting or budget web site hosting as an alternative.

There are websites like webhostinggeeks.com that offers list of various budget web hosting. A short description of the different budget web hosting is also included. Ratings and reviews of clients are the ones that makes it interesting. I find customer reviews helpful especially in getting a feel about a particular budget web hosting prior to service subscription.

Budget web hosting also offers similar services to that of expensive hosting. I have even seen a budget web hosting which features unlimited disk storage, unlimited data transfer (bandwidth), unlimited domain hosting, free domain for life, free technical support, free server monitoring, and others. The list of features offered is very tempting, but even with the good list of features, it’s very difficult to tell that you’ll get the same quality.

Reading the reviews would reveal that quality budget web hosting seems impossible. There is this constant weighing of what kind of service is acceptable for a particular price. Bottom line is how little would I be willing to pay to enjoy a certain level of web hosting quality. Start up blogs could be hosted on budget web hosting, but I would say that don’t expect too much from the service or you’ll get frustrated.

My blog was hosted on ‘budget’ web hosting at one point. It was alright until I started getting quite a bit of traffic, then the servers couldn’t handle it so I had to switch to a more reliable and sturdy host. I would recommend somone like Media temple.
