Computer Support IT Outsourcing Pushed for Cost Reduction
Nobody can deny that IT Services in large to small organizations are being targeted for cost reduction through outsourcing. There is an urgency in developing cost savings in every business to compete well in a very globalize economy. Management sees IT departments and IT units are areas for cost reduction. This is especially true where in-house computer support could not cope up with the business change.
I remember last week when there is an immediate IT staff exit from our organization. Then the new hired staff could not handle the vast problems left behind. I could not imagine several work days wasted due to a simple loss in Internet connectivity. Most office work force got the impression that the new guy is incompetent and that a better Computer Support could be provided by an outsourcing company.
Anyway, it’s too early to say, but similar, incidents could be avoided when a competent IT Consulting firm is taking care of the organization’s IT needs. I observed that there is little possibility of an IT Consulting firm closing compared to a staff leaving. The bottom line of going into computer support IT outsourcing is for cost reduction. Management needs to consider a lot of things prior to making a final decision for outsourcing IT service. IT Outsourcing is the buzz around my work place. I keep on looking on the numerous bright things that IT outsourcing will bring to our organization.
