Installing iReport 3 Java Virtual Machine Launcher Error Could not find the main class

After installation of iReport 3, I got this Java Virtual Machine Launcher error. It says - “Could not find the main class. Program will exit!”. Possible cause and solution is listed from http://java.com/en/download/help/wjview.xml. This could be caused by some Spyware / Adware program which needs scanning by anti-spy ware or anti-adware software. Another possible reason for this is wjview.exe is corrupted or deleted. Thus, it should be manually removed from the start up configuration.
This is kind of weird as the computer is kept clean with all the anti-virus scanner. I could not remember installing any java component. Thus, it’s maybe the reason for the error as it could not find the java virtual machine main class.
The solution was to install the java development kit (jdk-6u13-windows-i586-p.exe) which could be downloaded from java.com. The installation of the JDK has solved the problem of the iReport 3 software.
