Palm Lagging on Mobile Phone Markets
When it comes to smartphone, it could not be denied that Palm was the pioneer. Recent development on the mobile phone markets shows that Palm is lagging behind. I have made a search on major phone shopping website like MobileBuddy.com.au which don’t even list Palm smartphone. Mostly phone website are focusing on big names like iPhone, BlackBerry, and Google’s Android, Samsung, LG and a lot more has emerged more popular.
The mobile phone market is dominated obviously by iPhone and BlackBerrys. I could see many users getting hooked on these two phones. Thus, it’s not a surprise if Palm Inc. reports sales figures and shares plunging. Palm has reported a drop in sales by 29 percent from previous quarters. On the other hand, Apple has sold nearly 9 million iPhones in the same quarter.
Palm Inc. has increased advertising to reverse the effects. The company has stepped up its advertising efforts and maybe there are mobile phone plan deal. The Palm ads focused on showing the usefulness of its new mobile phone release. Some significant eye catchers are running multiple applications at the same time. This is one Palm smartphone feature that even iPhone does not have..
Palm is lagging on mobile phone markets, but does not have to worry as competitive marketing through mobile phone deals and broadband deals are getting positive feedback.
